Our Mission
Raising a child with special needs can be overwhelming—families must navigate complex systems, conflicting information, and emotional and financial strain. Connecting with other parents who share similar experiences can make a world of difference.
In 1985, Santa Cruz County parents began meeting for mutual support, forming what became SPIN (Special Parents Information Network) in 1996. Incorporated as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit in 2000, SPIN continues to provide information, resources, and community to help families thrive.

Our workshops provide practical tools, guidance on navigating school systems, and strategies to support children with diverse learning and developmental needs.
